The Rock Reacts To Tyson Fury’s Trilogy Win Over Wilder
Hollywood megastar The Rock has given his reaction to the unforgettable trilogy bout between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.
Fury and Wilder did battle a third time on Oct. 9. The action emanated from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two traded knockdowns in a wild heavyweight fracas. In the end, it was “The Gypsy King” who put “The Bronze Bomber” to sleep via 11th-round KO.
The Rock was in awe of what he saw and took to his Twitter account to praise both men.
“That was one of the greatest fights I’ve ever seen.
#1
#2
And #1 is undefeated going in. Congrats to my friend & champion Tyson Fury. What a beautiful & resilient performance. What a ‘on the shield’ heart Deontay Wilder has. I was inspired tonight by both men.”
With the victory over Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury remains the WBC and The Ring Heavyweight Champion. He now holds two wins over Wilder. In their first encounter back in Dec. 2018, the two went to a split draw. In the Feb. 2020 rematch, Fury had a one-sided showing on his way to a seventh-round TKO finish.
Fury has options at his disposal. He may want to wait for the winner of the inevitable rematch between WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua. Facing the winner would mean crowning an undisputed heavyweight champion if all major sanctioning bodies are in agreement. There’s also the possibility that Fury could meet interim WBC Heavyweight Champion Dillian Whyte.
As for Wilder, his future is sure to be a topic of conversation in the coming weeks. He will be turning 36 later this month and while he still has insane punching power, Wilder is coming off a brutal knockout loss. Trainer Malik Scott said he will ensure Wilder gets the proper amount of rest.
