Tim Tszyu Believes Terence Crawford Is Beatable
Tim Tszyu is hopeful he can secure a fight with Terence Crawford in the future as he knows it’s a winnable fight for him.
Tszyu is set to take on Keith Thurman on March 30 at the T-Mobile Arena, which is the Australian’s biggest fight to date. Tszyu was hopeful to fight Erickson Lubin, but the bout fell through and he will now take on Keith Thurman.
“When you don’t want to fight you overprice yourself, right? But look, I’m not sure what happened. I just know I was training for Lubin. I was told he was the opponent and we were just chasing a date and venue. Then next call I get, we’ve got a date and venue but no opponent. So he didn’t take the fight. That’s it,” Tszyu told Fox Sports Australia.
Although Tim Tszyu is fighting Keith Thurman, it’s a non-title fight, which some fans aren’t happy about. However, Tszyu just wanted to remain active and the hope is, with a win, he will secure a matchup with Terence Crawford.
It’s a fight that Tszyu is looking forward to and he believes he has the tools to beat Crawford.
“There have been talks between us. And I give Crawford all respect. He’ll fight anyone. And that’s why I see him as such a great challenge. But I also see him as being beatable. But there’s a lot going on. It could be Crawford, Errol Spence, whichever one is easiest to make. That’s why this upcoming fight means so much … I win and the possibilities are endless,” Tszyu said.
Before that fight can happen, Tszyu must defeat Keith Thurman later this month.
