Tim Tszyu Open To Working With Turki Alalshikh To Get Big Fights
Tim Tszyu says he would like to work with Turki Alalshikh to try and secure some big fights.
Tszyu is coming off an upset loss to Sebastian Fundora and will now return against Bakhram Murtazaliev. Earlier this week, Alalshikh said he would want to reach out to Tszyu to see if he wanted to work with him.
Now, according to Tszyu, he says he would love to work with him as he knows that Alalshikh can get the big fights for him.
“I’d love to work with him,” Tszyu said of the Riyadh Season head. “He’s all about making the big fights happen and I’m all for that. But I’ve got a team. I’ve got a professional team with me and everything is organized through that.”
Heading into his fight with Murtazaliev, Tim Tszyu knows he needs to win to keep getting big fights next time out. The Aussie has been linked to a rematch with Fundora or Errol Spence Jr. next, and he says he just wants the biggest fight possible.
“Both fights are appetizing,” Tszyu said on a media call. “Me and Vergil would be a cracking fight but at the same time an Errol Spence-Fundora fight would be good. I’m happy for both. He (Murtazaliev)’s the IBF champ, you can’t disrespect the guy. He’s world champion for a reason, but I don’t think he’s fought anyone like Tim Tszyu so that’s another story in itself. He brings something different, I guess. The top fights, man. I’m here to make the top fights possible.”
Tim Tszyu is 24-1 and coming off the loss to Fundora to lose his WBO light middleweight title. Before that, he scored a decision win over Brian Mendoza. He also has notable wins over Carlos Ocampo, Tony Harrison, and Jeff Horn.
