Tommy Fury Hopes Jake Paul Tries To Steal His Hat: ‘So I Can Hit Him’
Tommy Fury is hoping Jake Paul is up to his old tricks when he travels over to America to feature on the undercard of the YouTuber’s fight with former UFC champion, Tyron Woodley.
On Monday, it was announced that Tyson Fury’s younger brother is set to square off against Paul’s sparring partner, Anthony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor, on August 29.
A win for Fury and Paul in their respective fights sets up a long-discussed grudge match between the pair. The former Love Island star issued a call out to the internet celebrity earlier this year before Paul responded with direct messages to him from Fury’s girlfriend, Molly-Mae Hague.
It seems almost certain that Fury and Paul will have some type of run-in in the build-up to the August 29 Showtime pay-per-view event.
Fury says he will be wearing a hat all fight week and is hoping Paul tries to recreate his “Gotcha Hat” stunt that Floyd Mayweather extremely upset.
“I am wearing a cap. I’m gonna do it on purpose and I hope he tries to take it so I can hit him with a left hook like Floyd Mayweather done and send him crying again,” Fury told BT Sport. “He took a little bit of a shot around the eye and he went off into the changing room, crying with a red face.”
“I know exactly what he’s about and his cronies,” Fury added. So, this here is a thrill-seeking ride for me. I’m going to get over there, I’m going to enjoy it. I’m going to take it with both hands because I know what I’m messing with at the end of the day. I know what I’ve done in my career and I know what they are and I know how to take things like this on. You know, we take it with a pinch of salt. I know my ability. I know my power and I know what I can do. So, I’m going to go over there and show everybody what I can do.”
