Tyson Fury’s future: Carl Froch’s view on his retirement

Tyson Fury

Carl Froch has given his thoughts on why Tyson Fury decided to announce his retirement from professional boxing.

As we know, Tyson Fury has decided to walk away from boxing. Of course, given that he’s retired a few times in the past, some wonder whether or not he’ll end up returning to the ring at some point in the future. Alas, for the time being, it appears to be legitimate, with ‘The Gypsy King’ leaving as easily one of the biggest and most notable heavyweights of his generation – and perhaps of all time.

Tyson Fury has obviously decided to retire off the back of a notable defeat against Oleksandr Usyk, his second loss to him in a row. Given how many big fights there are still out there, especially against Anthony Joshua, the hope is that he’ll make his way back into the ring sooner rather than later.

Carl Froch, a British boxing legend in his own right, recently gave his thoughts on the retirement of Tyson Fury.

Carl Froch on Tyson Fury’s retirement

“He [Fury] has retired because deep down, he knows he is probably past his best and lost two fights [against Usyk],” he said on his YouTube channel.

“And I know personally he is p*****. I spoke to somebody close to his team, and he’s really frustrated and p***** off that he lost the rematch.

“But he did lose and lost fair and square. I think Usyk did enough to win.

“It was a close fight, but it wasn’t very entertaining, not like the first one where there were moments of excitement, and not a lot happened.

“He shouldn’t have any complaints apart from the frustration that he didn’t go for it.”
