Tyson Fury Confirms Comeback, Calls Out ‘Chicken’ Derek Chisora For Trilogy, Brit Turns It Down
Tyson Fury has confirmed he will be coming back.
Fury announced he would be retiring after he beat Dillian Whyte as he had talked about that in the lead-up to the scrap. However, many didn’t think he would truly remain retired and that is the case as he took to social media to call out Chisora for the trilogy.
“This one goes out to Derek ‘The s**thouse’ Chisora. You’re running Derek from the trilogy,” Fury said in the video. “You call yourself ‘War,’ but you should call yourself ‘chicken’ because you’re running from the trilogy and from a career-high payday. Get that f***ing contract signed.”
Eddie Hearn confirmed there was an offer on the table, but Chisora didn’t think he was getting enough money so he turned it down.
“Derek had an offer from the Tyson Fury camp, it wasn’t enough money and I’m not sure we’re going to see that fight,” Hearn said to Boxing Social. “It’s good to see Tyson keeping his options open.”
Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora fought back in 2011 with Fury winning by decision to hand Chisora his first loss. Fury also won the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.
The two then had their rematch in 2014 and Fury once again got his hand raised, but this time it was by stoppage in the 10th round.
Tyson Fury (32-0-1) scored a TKO win over Dillian Whyte back in April in his first fight since he knocked out Deontay Wilder in the trilogy in October. In the rematch, Fury scored a seventh-round TKO and in the first fight, they fought to a draw. In his career, Fury holds notable wins over Otto Wallin, Wladimir Klitschko, Steve Cunningham, and Christian Hammer among others.
Derek Chisora (33-12) snapped his three-fight losing skid last time out as he won a controversial split decision against Kubrat Pulev. Prior to that, Chisora lost to Joseph Parker twice and dropped a decision to Oleksandr Usyk.
