Tyson Fury, Francis Ngannou Go Back And Forth On Twitter
The earliest rumblings of a potential crossover fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou are beginning to be heard.
‘The Gyspy King,’ is set to face off against fellow heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua this summer. However, Fury also has his eyes set on another opponent. That man is UFC Heavyweight champion, Francis ‘The Predator’ Ngannou.
In a recent Twitter post, Fury stated “after I smash @anthonyjoshua I’ll roast that guy also. @francis_ngannou easy work.”
Ngannou, who initially began training in combat sports with the aspiration of becoming a professional boxer, has since replied to Fury. Ngannou posted a picture of Fury’s bloodied face after a fight with Swedish boxer Otto Wallin, paired with the following caption:
“If this guy did this to you, what do you think I would do.”
Ngannou only recently claimed the UFC HW belt, annihilating a man who many consider being the greatest MMA Heavyweight of all time, Stipe Miocic. He will likely have to make at least one title defence before looking at super fights against the likes of Fury.
As mentioned above, Fury is currently booked up. He has signed a two fight deal to fight Joshua. With luck, both fights will take place in 2021.
Should both men have a successful 2021, it could be that we see a heavyweight cross promotional fight the following year. Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather broke PPV records in both sports, and it stands to reason that Ngannou vs Fury could at least match it’s success.
