Tyson Fury Hints Anthony Joshua Fight Might Not Happen: ‘3 Days Left, Clock Is Ticking’
Tyson Fury has sent a cryptic message suggesting the fight with Anthony Joshua may not come to fruition.
For months now, Fury and Joshua have been linked to a fight and recently it was reported they agreed to a two-fight deal. Eddie Hearn, who promotes Joshua, recently revealed a venue deal was close to being made.
“We can’t wait. AJ has started his training camp and Fury has been training very hard. They all want the fight,” Hearn told reporters (h/t boxingscene).
“They are going to be presented with a few proposals on where to do the fight and everyone has to agree on where to do it. There is no other fight out there that comes close for either guy,” Hearn continued. “July is the date. Really I think end of next week it will be done. Talks have progressed extremely well and we’re closing in on securing the venue and there will be an announcement in due course. We’re at the stage where it’s probably best not to say much more than that.”
Now, however, as many in the combat sport world believed the fight was done, Fury sent a cryptic tweet suggesting Hearn and Joshua have three days left to make a deal.
“3 days left. The clock is ticking, tick tock, tick tock,” Fury tweeted.
Tyson Fury is 30-0-1 as a pro and coming off the seventh-round TKO win over Deontay Wilder. Before that, he had a decision win over Otto Wallin and a TKO win over Tom Schwarz. In his career, he also has the draw to Wilder and notable wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Derek Chisora, and Steven Cunningham among others. If he can beat Joshua, it would cement his legacy as one of the best heavyweights of all-time.
