Tyson Fury Hopeful For Another 10 Fights After Francis Ngannou Bout
Tyson Fury is hopeful he can continue boxing for the foreseeable future.
Fury is set to return to the ring on Saturday in Saudi Arabia as he takes on former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. It’s an intriguing matchup and one that Fury is a massive favorite in.
After he faces Francis Ngannou, Fury already has agreed to fight Oleksandr Usyk next time out. After that, many think Fury would retire, but he says he still has a long way to go in boxing.
“I’m looking to sign another 10-fight deal after this, so I don’t know, I’m going to put my feelers out there and see who I can get the best deal off for another 10 fights,” Fury told ESPN. “What else is there? I retire, plenty of money, plenty of achievement, whatever — 35 [years old]. What am I going to do? … This makes me f—ing happy fighting. This is all I’ve ever done and all that’s ever made me happy. So it’d be stupid now to walk away from it when I’m making millions of dollars and getting loads of joy from it as well.”
Although Tyson Fury is 35, he still believes he is fighting at a high level and can continue that for another 10 fights to prove he is the greatest.
“I’ve been boxing 15 years as a pro. I’m going to be prone to injuries, you know, elbows, knees, shoulders, ankles, everything that can go wrong on somebody usually at our age now that goes wrong. Boxing is definitely more entertaining when I’m in it,” Fury added. “I’ll say boxing will be f****d when I’m gone.”
Tyson Fury is currently 33-0-1 as a pro and coming off a TKO win over Derek Chisora last December.
