Vasyl Lomachenko Predicts Gervonta Davis Will Finish Ryan Garcia

Vasyl Lomachenko is confident Gervonta Davis will stop Ryan Garcia when they fight.

Davis vs. Garcia has officially been set to land on Showtime Pay-Per-View on April 15 in Las Vegas and it’s a massive fight for the division. Davis is currently the betting favorite and Lomachenko expects Davis to finish Garcia, but isn’t sure when it will happen.

“I said before, it’s a very interesting fight,” Lomachenko told a group of reporters at the Fox Theater (via BoxingScene). “It depends on how they prepare for this fight, if they [both] prepare 100%. It will be very, very interesting and very hard, tough for both because they understand boxing. I think, my opinion, Gervonta Davis will win because he is very technical, he has the power, he has the speed, and he knows how he needs to move. And he always fights guys who are bigger [and taller] than him. I think Davis will finish him (Garcia).”

It is a massive fight and Oscar De La Hoya who promotes Ryan Garcia believes the fight against Gervonta Davis will do big business with pay-per-views. De La Hoya expects the scrap to sell around 2.5 million pay-per-views.

“We’re all working together to blow this one out of the water,” De La Hoya said on The MMA Hour. “We want to make sure that this event here, because it’s such a special fight, we want to make sure that this fight does 2, 2.5, 3 million homes. This is that type of event. Realistically, close to 2.5.”

As for Vasyl Lomachenko, he is coming off a decision win over Jamaine Ortiz to extend his win streak to three and does not have his next fight booked. Also on the win streak, he beat Richard Commey by decision and TKO’d Masayoshi Nakatani.
