Victor Ortiz Provides 2022 Goals For Fighting Including Boxing Jake Paul
Victor Ortiz has opened up on his goals for boxing which includes a fight with Jake Paul.
Ortiz is coming off a decision loss to Robert Guerrero back in August which was his first fight since February 2018. Now, the hope for Ortiz is to be more active in 2022 and that starts with a tune-up bout against Paul and then a fight with Canelo Alvarez.
“2022 fight goal! Let’s go ! 1) Jake Paul ( tune up fight ) 2) Canelo Álvarez 3) Danny Garcia 4) Terrence Crawford 5) Errol Spence Jr. @jakepaul @Canelo @DannySwift @terencecrawford @ErrolSpenceJr. Friends are friends by my career is first! #mykids #family,” Ortiz wrote on Twitter.
There is no question there are lofty goals for Victor Ortiz as those are the biggest fights in boxing and Ortiz will need to string together several wins in a row before he can get any of them. He also doesn’t appear to be a big enough mainstream name for Paul to want to box as he has been dead set on facing ex-UFC fighters.
Victor Ortiz (32-7-3), is 34-years-old and made his return to the ring in August as mentioned. Before the loss, he fought Devon Alexander to a draw. In his career, he is the former WBC welterweight champion, and holds notable wins over Andre Berto, Nate Campbell, Vivian Harris, and Carlos Mussa among others. He also lost his WBC belt to Floyd Mayweather as Mayweather knocked him out in the fourth round.
When and who Ortiz fights again is uncertain but the good news for boxing fans is Ortiz wants to be active in 2022.
