Vitor Belfort vs. Evander Holyfield Betting Preview

Evander Holyfield

Vitor Belfort was supposed to square off against Oscar De La Hoya at Triller Fight Clubs Legends 2 on September 11 in Los Angeles until ‘Golden Boy’ contracted COVID-19 and withdrew from the fight.

In steps Holyfield who will square off against ‘The Phenom’ on one weeks’ notice. The 58-year-old has been preparing for a comeback fight for more than a year now. Holyfield has been linked to a third fight with Mike Tyson, but a deal for the eagerly anticipated trilogy bout has proved tough to finalize.

Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort

In our opinion, Evander Holyfield presents a much tougher task for Vitor Belfort than Oscar De La Hoya ever did. ‘Golden Boy’ is younger and perhaps closer to his prime but ‘The Real Deal’ has a true size advantage, that combined with boxing know-how should make him a tricky customer. Belfort opened as the -175 favourite, but the tide has since turned in Holyfield’s favour – he’s now priced at -125 to get the win, in comparison to Belfort’s -115. Ultimately, we have to back Belfort to get the victory. He lacks in boxing ability but is only recently removed from a career in MMA’s premier promotion – the UFC. Away from the watchful eyes of USADA since being released, Belfort has seriously bulked up and appears to be in the best shape he’s been in years. Holyfield will be tricky and tough to stop but Belfort should get the win with pure volume and a rapid fight pace.

Anderson Silva vs. Tito Ortiz

Anderson Silva continues his career resurgence when he squares off against Tito Ortiz in the Triller Fight Club Legends 2 co-main event. ‘The Spider’ shocked the world when he put on a dominant display to beat the former WBC middleweight champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., earlier this year. Silva was briefly linked to a fight with Logan Paul but instead opted to face his former UFC colleague, Ortiz. ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ is fresh off a political run and intent on displaying the improvements he’s made to his boxing ability in the past decade. The bookmakers don’t really consider this to be much of a fight Silva is the -1000 favourite, Ortiz is priced at +550 to get the win. We simply have to agree with the oddsmakers. Silva should get the win here and make it look fairly simple.

David Haye vs. Joe Fournier

Another mammoth mismatch. David Haye is way past his best but is a deserved -2000 favourite heading into his fight with Joe Fournier. The former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion will almost definitely win this fight but the question really is how quickly. If you wish to make some money on this bout you’re going to have to pick the round.
