Former Professional Boxer, Viviane Obenauf, Arrested For Homicide
Former professional boxer Viviane Obenauf, 34, has been arrested under suspicion of beating her husband to death in their Switzerland appartment.
The two live, or lived, in Interlaken, Switzerland, where her husband, Thomas, owned a restaurant named Des Alpes. The two had only been married since January of this year, just after Obenauf retired from competition.
After this arrest took place, an ex-boyfriend opened up and shared what it was like being with her, and it doesn’t help her case any. He told local news outlet Blick the following:
“She always had two faces, it’s like flicking a switch. She hit me directly in the face with her fist about three or four times.”
This doesn’t make her sound too promising, and she is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it’s a tough place to come from filled with all sorts of dangerous, hot-headed individuals.
Obenauf retired after her 20th professional fight, a defeat to 11-0-1 talent Terri Harper, bringing her record to 14-6 before calling it quits.
We at BoxingDaily will soon know the verdict, but for now, let’s hope they got it wrong. This is already a travesty as it is, it’ll only be worse should a combat sports athlete be to blame.
