Will Anthony Joshua wait for Tyson Fury?

Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua is in a pretty frustrating position right now – but it does beg the question: will he decide to wait it out for a potential Tyson Fury fight?

We all know that Anthony Joshua is a warrior. He’s been in the boxing ring against some of the best heavyweights of his generation, and more often than not, he’s been able to get the better of them. With that being said, one man who he’s never been able to face off against is the great Tyson Fury.

After Fury lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk, as Anthony Joshua did, the possibility of the long-awaited Joshua/Fury showdown has gotten stronger. It may not have the same appeal as it once did back in the day, but given the star power both individuals possess, it’s hard to picture anything other than a financial success if it does go ahead.

However, a road block has been thrown into the mix in the form of Tyson Fury retiring. Many don’t actually believe that he’s going to walk away from the sport, with the expectation being that he will eventually reverse his retirement – as he has done in the past.

So, will Anthony Joshua wait it out until Fury inevitably changes his mind, or will he take on another challenge?

Anthony Joshua’s problem

In our view, it makes sense for Anthony Joshua to test the waters and get back in there following his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. Before taking on someone like Tyson Fury, he’ll want to measure himself against an opponent he’s expected to beat.

It’s not clear as to who exactly that would be, but what we do know is that he’s far from done himself. Hopefully, one way or the other, we get to see Joshua vs Fury finally take place later this year.
