Darren Till’s boxing run: expectations are high
Darren Till is set to battle Anthony Taylor in the upcoming Misfits Boxing event – and the expectations, it feels like, are quite high.
We all know that Darren Till has had a rollercoaster ride of a career. Ever since leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he hasn’t really done a whole lot of note. As such, with this next step of venturing into Misfits Boxing, the hope from many is that we’re going to see him turn a corner.
Darren Till is a big personality, yes, but he’s also a very talented fighter when he puts everything together. For now, mixed martial arts has been pushed to one side. As for boxing, his unorthodox technique is bound to lead to a lot of speculation regarding how successful he’s going to be.
At the weigh-in before the event, the Liverpudlian responded to Anthony Taylor approaching him by grabbing his throat, leading to a scuffle – with KSI in the middle of it all.
A big moment for Darren Till
Darren Till almost certainly would’ve preferred to go after another opponent as opposed to Anthony Taylor. At this point, Taylor is pretty much a veteran in this influencer boxing space – whereas ‘The Gorilla’ is only just getting started. He was initially set to battle Tommy Fury, but he opted to pull out of the contest.
In terms of the direction of travel, it certainly seems as if it would make sense for Darren Till vs Tommy Fury to go down in the former is able to get through Anthony Taylor.
Alas, some of you reading this may not be big fans of Till and his boxing run, and that’s understandable. Hopefully, at the very least, we’ll get to see him compete in a cage at least one more time before he hangs it up.
